An electric guitar package is ideal for beginners because they contain all of the necessary equipment you will need to get started, often including a guitar and strap, a lead and a small amplifier and as such provide excellent value for money because they mean you will not have to fork out for all of the elements individually. In this respect they are also extremely convenient because everything is available all in one box for you!
Prices of electric guitar packages typically range from around $80-$350+ depending on the make and model of the guitar and quality of amplifier and accessories.
The contents of the packages themselves tend to vary a bit also. They might include beginner books/CDs, a soft guitar case and perhaps some other accessories such as plectra and a tuner.
Most if not all of the major guitar manufacturers offer beginner guitar packages as they know that beginner electric guitarists, as with beginners of any new hobby, need a variety of essentials just to get started.

Most of us are familiar with the popular ’…For Dummies’ range of educational and informative products have probably bought or used at least one of the 1,700 titles which cover an a huge array of subjects. Here then is the Electric Guitar For Dummies Starter Pack.
Included in this pack is absoultely everything that a beginner electric guitarist will need to get going such as a Kona electric guitar, a 10 watt Kona amplifier, cable, strap, picks, ‘Electric Guitar Basics For Dummies’ book and CD and a large wall chart featuring all of the beginner guitar chords one must know.

FENDER STARCASTER STRAT PACK 
It would be an absolute disgrace not to feature a Fender product here. Fender have been making electric guitars for nigh on 60 years now and know what makes a great instrument which is why they can claim to manufacture some of the most enduring and sought after musical instruments in the world. With this experience comes the knowledge of what makes a great guitar for beginners which is evidenced in the Fender Starcaster electric guitar and the package that comes with it.
First of all you get a great looking Stratocaster style guitar which will be suitable for all styles of music and is capable of reproducing that great Fender tone at a bargain beginner price, a Squier SP10 amplifier featuring an overdrive button as well as volume and treble/bass controls, and an instructional DVD. Extras include a case, strings, straps, picks, 10ft cable and a tuner.

DEAN ELECTRIC GUITAR STARTER PACK
This is the excellent Dean electric guitar starter pack. Forward thinking Dean are renowned for designing and making excellent rock guitars primarily, although they do make great acoustic guitars also.
Some of the biggest names in rock music use Dean instruments. These include Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde and the late, great Dimebag Darrell.
